NUR 866 : BASIC PRINC NURSE ANESTHESIOLOGY

In this course, second-year nurse anesthesiology students will examine basic anesthetic principles, techniques, and procedures required for the delivery of safe, individualized, and holistic perioperative anesthesia care. Important concepts addressed will include professional ethics and standards of care, perioperative patient assessment, airway management, vigilance and patient safety, the peri-anesthetic continuum, and comprehensive anesthetic plans of care for a variety of surgical cases and procedures. This course is the first in a series of three sequential and required anesthesia principles courses. Learning will align with the topic matter, learning outcomes, and skills practiced in Anesthesiology Simulation Lab I.
