NUR 714 : ADV PSYCHOPHARMACOLOGY
This course provides an in-depth exploration of the neurobiological, genetic, and pharmacological principles that guide psychopharmacologic treatment across the lifespan. Integrating evidence-based practice, pharmacogenomic testing, and clinical decision-making in the management of psychiatric disorders is the premise of the learning outcomes. Students will analyze mechanisms of action, interactions, and therapeutic applications of psychotropic medications within complex patient populations, including those with comorbid medical conditions. The course highlights safe and ethical prescribing, interprofessional collaboration, and culturally responsive care in psychiatric medication management.
