NUR 631 : CURRICULUM BUILDING

This graduate-level course prepares nursing students to design, evaluate, and revise curricula for academic and clinical education settings. Grounded in educational theory, evidence-based teaching practices, and current professional standards, the course emphasizes the systematic process of curriculum development as it relates to the evolving needs of learners, healthcare systems, and diverse populations.  Students will explore philosophical foundations of education, models of curriculum design, accreditation and regulatory influences, and strategies for integrating technology and simulation into nursing education. Emphasis will be placed on aligning curriculum with program outcomes, national competencies, and healthcare workforce demands. Students will develop the skills necessary to create innovative, learner-centered, and culturally responsive curricula that include appropriate and innovative course activities, as well as perform program evaluation.
