NUR 831 : PMHNP PRACT 3: SPECIALTY PSYC

This culminating practicum integrates advanced clinical and didactic experiences focused on complex and specialty psychiatric populations. Students provide comprehensive care for older adults, individuals with substance-use disorders, intellectual/developmental disabilities, and those served through tele-psychiatry. The 1-credit didactic component addresses advanced psychopharmacology, telehealth ethics, and systems-based practice. Students demonstrate mastery of diagnostic reasoning, medication management, and interprofessional collaboration to optimize outcomes across care transitions. Emphasis is placed on ethical prescribing, relapse prevention, policy awareness, and professional role development in preparation for transition to practice as a PMHNP.
