NUR 704 : ADV PHARMACOLOGY & THERAPEUTICS
Builds on pharmacological knowledge from a baccalaureate nursing program to provide a comprehensive review of core concepts and principles. Equips students with the knowledge and skills to assess, evaluate, and pharmacologically manage health problems in a patient-centered, safe, high-quality, and cost-effective manner. The pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, pharmacogenetics, and pharmacotherapeutics of select classes of drugs will be analyzed. Physiologic responses of drugs and their effects on diseases will be reviewed across the lifespan. Emphasis is on the development of therapeutic decision-making in drug selection for the patient based on health problems, individual variations, and economic considerations.
