SOWK 620 : FOUNDATIONS OF SOCIAL WORK KNOWLEDGE

This graduate-level course introduces students to diverse approaches to developing and using knowledge to inform social work professional practice.  Students will appraise the strengths, limitations, and usefulness of different sources and types of knowledge that social workers draw on when making practice decisions. Students will also develop foundational skills for using knowledge to inform their own generalist practice, and developing knowledge based on that generalist practice.
