SOWK 615 : POPULATIONS AND PROBLEMS - POVERTY, INEQUALITY AND MATERIAL HARDSHIPS

Building on the generalist curriculum, this course introduces students to foundational knowledge and skills for understanding, applying, and critiquing conceptualizations of poverty, inequality, and material hardship as a way to interpret and plan for effective social work practice to respond to the experiences, needs and strengths of individuals, groups, and communities.

Prerequisites

Acceptance in the Advanced Standing MSW program OR successful completion of the generalist MSW curriculum.
