SOWK 610 : FOUNDATIONS OF THE SOCIAL WORK PROFESSION

This graduate-level course orients students to the history, development, and current foci of social work, social welfare policy, and dominant approaches to understanding and intervening to improve social functioning, human well-being, and social justice.  Students learn about major social safety net policies, and gain knowledge and skills for advocating for policy change.
