SOWK 605 : APPROACHES TO SOCIAL WORK PRACTICE - COGNITIVE-BEHAVIORAL APPROACHES

Building on core skills developed in the generalist curriculum, this graduate-level course explores cognitive-behavioral theories and core principles of cognitive-behavioral approaches to practice.  Students learn to apply cognitive-behavioral approaches to engagement, assessment, intervention, and evaluation of practice across systems levels, and complete a “deep dive” project, developing greater expertise about when, where, why, and how to use cognitive-behavioral approaches with a selected population, organization, or community.
