ASD 363 : ASD: PRACTICUM EXPERIENCE I (CO)

This undergraduate practicum experience concludes the Autism Sequence (first part of practicum semester) It is intended to be a culminating experience so that students have an opportunity to concretely demonstrate skills, techniques, and strategies learned in the previous three courses. This course requires that students complete a practicum experience (minimum of 70 in-class hours) in a setting that serves children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. This could include a self-contained setting, and inclusive setting, or a combination of the two; the population served must be between the ages of 2 and 21, inclusive. Students will receive a grade of “not recorded” until competition of ASD 364 during the second term. At that time, the same final grade will be posted for both course halves.  This course is offered at the GR and UG level; students enrolled in GR level versions of this course will expect more readings and assignments and are held to higher expectations in terms of rigor and magnitude of expected output to demonstrate mastery.
