ANTH 202 : GENDER AND SEXUALITY (G)

This course is the examination of gender and gendered experiences from an anthropological and sociological perspective. Students will examine the role of gender in evolution, gender roles in prehistory, and key concepts and movements. In addition, students will evaluate cross-cultural variations of gender roles and status, be exposed to differing constructions of gender and sexuality, and gain a greater appreciation of the influence of systems of power and institutions, such as race, religion, capitalism, and colonialism, on gendered identities.
